Terms and Conditions

1. About These Terms

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern the provision of online tuition services ("Services") by TutelageCo ("we", "us", "our") to students and, where the student is under 18, their parent or legal guardian ("you", "your"). By booking or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

TutelageCo is a limited company registered in England and Wales, company number 17321634. Our contact details are set out in Section 14.

2. Our Services

We provide one-to-one and/or small-group online tuition in English to students in Key Stages 2 through 5, delivered via a video conferencing platform e.g. Google Meet. Sessions are booked in advance through our website.

We are not a school and do not issue formal qualifications. Our Services are supplementary to, and not a substitute for, a student's main education.

3. Parental/
Guardian Consent

Where a student is under 18, a parent or legal guardian must complete our consent process before the first session, confirming their relationship to the student and their agreement to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our Safeguarding Policy.

The parent or legal guardian remains responsible for the student's attendance, conduct, and safety outside of the tutoring session itself, including ensuring the student has suitable equipment, a safe space, and appropriate supervision where needed given the student's age.

4. Bookings, Scheduling and Cancellations.

  • Sessions must be booked in advance via the website.

  • Rescheduling requests made with at least 48 hours' notice will not be charged.

  • Rescheduling requests made with less notice, requests for cancellation or, non-attendance, may be charged at the full session rate.

  • We reserve the right to reschedule or cancel a session due to tutor illness or unforeseen circumstances, and will provide as much notice as reasonably possible and offer an alternative session or refund.

5. Fees and Payment

Fees for our Services are as set out at the time of booking. Fees are payable in advance by card payment.

We reserve the right to amend our fees from time to time. Any change will not affect sessions already booked and paid for.

Failed payment may result in suspension of future sessions until outstanding fees are paid.

6. Technology Requirements

You are responsible for ensuring the student has access to a suitable device, stable internet connection, and any required software for online sessions. We are not responsible for sessions disrupted by technical issues on your side, though we will act reasonably to reschedule where appropriate.

7. Conduct

Students and, where present, any adults assisting them, are expected to engage respectfully with tutors. We reserve the right to end a session or suspend the Services if a student or accompanying adult behaves in a manner that is abusive, threatening, or otherwise unacceptable.

Tutors are likewise expected to conduct themselves professionally at all times. Any concerns about tutor conduct should be raised via the complaints process in Section 12.

8. Safeguarding

The safety and wellbeing of the students we tutor is our priority. Our tutors are subject to appropriate background checks in accordance with our internal safeguarding policy, a copy of which is available on request. Any safeguarding concerns will be handled in accordance with that policy and, where necessary, reported to the relevant authorities.

9. Intellectual Property

All teaching materials, worksheets, and resources provided during tuition remain the intellectual property of TutelageCo or its tutors, and are provided for the student's personal educational use only. They may not be copied, distributed, or published without our prior written consent.

10. Limitation of Liability

We will provide our Services with reasonable skill and care. We do not guarantee specific academic outcomes, including examination results or grade improvements, as these depend on factors outside our control.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Subject to the above, our total liability to you arising out of or in connection with the Services shall not exceed the total fees paid by you in the [three (3) months] preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

11. Complaints

If you are unhappy with any aspect of our Services, please contact us using the details set out in Section 14. We aim to acknowledge complaints within 14 working days and to resolve them promptly and fairly.

12. Termination

Either party may end the tuition arrangement at any time without notice. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate the Services immediately in cases of non-payment, safeguarding concern, or serious breach of these Terms.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes, and continued use of the Services after such notice constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. Governing Law and Contact

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
