Entrance Exam Prep: KS2-KS3
Service Description
Independent school entrance exams ask a lot of young students: comprehension under time pressure, unfamiliar text types, and writing that has to impress on a single attempt. Preparing well means practising the exam itself, not just general English skills. I work with students on the specific demands of 11+ and 13+ papers, including reading comprehension, creative and non-fiction writing, and verbal reasoning where required. We look closely at past papers and school-specific styles, so students go in knowing what to expect rather than guessing. At this age, confidence matters as much as ability. I keep sessions calm and encouraging, so students can make mistakes and learn from them without feeling anxious about the exam ahead. Good preparation should leave a child ready for the test, and just as importantly, ready to enjoy the school they're joining.
